STADIUM 974

Stadium 974 is a temporary football stadium located in Ras Abu Aboud, Doha, Qatar, which was opened on November 30, 2021. It was designed by Fenwick Iribarren Architects and constructed using 974 recycled shipping containers, making it the first fully demountable covered football stadium in the world. The 40,000 seat stadium hosted matches during the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, after which dismantlement began. It is designed to be reassembled elsewhere and received a four-star rating from the Global Sustainability Assessment System. The stadium offers a spectacular view of the Doha skyline and is the only waterfront athletic venue in the area.
